I began my academic life with an MPhys in Mathematical Physics at the University of Edinburgh, where I focused on statistical physics and mathematical modeling. I then started my DPhil in Systems Biology here at the DTC. I wrote my thesis, “Developing Novel Scoring Functions for Protein-Ligand Docking Using Machine Learning” under the supervision of Prof. Garrett Morris and Prof. Charlotte Deane at the Department of Statistics. Today, I’m a Research Software Engineer in the Oxford Protein INformatics Group, where I split my time between researching the use of machine learning for predicting protein-ligand interactions, and developing and supporting the wide range of software created in the group.
